speech impairment  Batya
 Nov 25, 2002 22:50 PST
Hi my name is Batya. I am a pre-service teacher in University of
Maryland. I am interested in how to adapt a classroom to children
with
speech impairment. I think I am most interested in more severe
impairment such as mute children. I am looking for assistive
technology
to help students with speech impairments. I am looking for what kind
of
software or hardware, how it works.   I am also looking for
information
on physical accommodations that are needed in the classroom? What
kind
of social adaptation? What kind of special services are there and how
are they delivered?
If anyone can help me with any of these aspects I would greatly
appreciate it. Where else should I look for information?
Thanks a lot and have a happy thanksgiving.
Batya
