*** Value of Accreditation Chapter Toolkit

A resource kit designed to help chapter leaders promote IABC and the
accreditation program is now available at:
www.iabc.com/leaders/abctoolkit/. The toolkit contains letter templates,
articles, talking points and results from the Value of Accreditation
Study. Feel free to use letter templates to pass along the Executive
Summary and/or article reprints to businesses, recruiters and academics
in your network.

Findings from the Value of Accreditation Study give chapters the
opportunity to get the word out about the value of accreditation and
strategic communication management to key stakeholders such as
businesses, higher education institutions and recruiters. This recent
study found that:

„X ABCs add strategic value to their organizations and clients by
practicing strategic communication management.
„X ABCs increase credibility and respect for themselves, their
departments and organizations, their industries and to the communication
profession.
„X IABC¡¦s accreditation program is a gateway to learning and advancing
the practice of strategic communication management.

A usage guide has also been developed to assist chapters in using the
materials in their marketing efforts. See how it may work for your
chapter. If you are interested in giving the presentation (speaker
notes are included) in your area or have any questions, contact Olivia
Nucum, Accreditation Coordinator at onu-@iabc.com or Mary Hills, ABC,
Director of Marketing, Accreditation Council, hillsm-@aol.com.

*** Facebook and LinkedIn Set Up for ABCs

Accreditation has gone social¡Knetworking that is. An ABC group has been
set up in Facebook and LinkedIn specifically for Accredited Business
Communicators. These groups will be solely for ABCs to network and
exchange information.

Facebook is being overseen by Claire Watson, ABC, APR, and the group
name is IABC-Global Accreditation.

ABCs can go directly to Facebook, set up their account and then connect
with the group.

Cindy Orlandi, ABC, APR, is facilitating the LinkedIn group, IABC
Accredited Members. To receive an invitation to join the group, contact
Cindy Orlandi.
