*** ABC Article: David Wong, ABC
To start off, I would like to express my gratitude to the Shanghai
Public Relations Association and IABC in introducing such a
world-renowned and authoritative international accreditation program
making it available to PR professionals in Shanghai and China.
Prior to the accreditation process, I didn’t realize the impact and
benefits that it offers. I knew it would not be easy but didn’t expect
it to be as challenging as it is. During the process, I was given the
opportunity to evaluate my professional standards, collate and review
the skills I had acquired over the years in my work, and reaffirm my
professional commitment and accumulated experience. Through arranging
top-class PR and communications experts from around the world as
trainers, IABC has enlightened me with cutting-edge communications ideas
and concepts, thus greatly enhancing my professional skills and
standards.
Through this highly demanding and authoritative program, I experienced
challenges that I had never been through before like sitting down on my
University entrance examination. From program application to case study
preparation, and from training to the final examination, every stage
called upon my best efforts, as this was a holistic process that
accessed my professional knowledge and experience. I was particularly
surprised as the program let me come to know of my shortfalls. This
manifests the wide span of professional expertise covered by the program
itself. That is why I find the learning process highly compelling and
intriguing. Up until now, I am still very much enjoying this learning
process, and I believe throughout my professional career, I will
continue to learn in the IABC mode.
Anyone who has passed through IABC’s accreditation is the largest
beneficiary of the program, as the accreditation has opened up more
opportunities and a broader horizon. I feel that I am part of the team
of top notch global PR professionals, and I can leverage on the IABC
platform for fruitful exchange and sharing with other fellow members in
the PR and communications industry. Furthermore the accreditation avails
me the chance to upgrade my professional capabilities and better
planning of my future career path.
I highly recommend the IABC accreditation program to any serious PR and
communication professionals who are committed to making the profession
their career. I genuinely hope that more and more fellow professionals
will join this program. As the first few who went through the
accreditation in China, I will contribute my efforts to promote and
enhance the program. I am confident that the accreditation will greatly
influence and induce the development of China’s PR and communications
profession.
