Good news and bad news  Paulette Brockington
 May 07, 2003 16:48 PDT

I have much to tell you about The American Open.

First, the good news. Our teacher list now boasts US Open champ Mario
Robau and Sylvia Sykes. We hope to increase in numbers enough to move
into the Dreamland Ballroom which was so popular in the western PA area
during the Big Band era.

Now the bad news. The event has been postponed until June 18, 19, 20,
2004. Many things led to the decision to postpone. One major concern was
that the park would be open in time after their renovations. Last week I
got many calls from Conneaut Lake Park. So I made many calls to many
people. Asking teachers to move AO to their calendars for next year.
Asking registrants to forgive the date change.

Although we've had to postpone the event we still anticpate a dynamic
and innovative event. With the lineup we've got there's no way it could
be anything less. We hope you will join us for it.

The registration form and dates should be undated shortly. Check
http://artspectrum.org/amopen.htm for updates on teachers, the schedule,
hotel and travel info.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
