Hi all,
It's been a while since my last post. But I did want to remind you that
ALHC is just around the corner. This year's dates are Oct. 23 - 26,
2003.
Please note that this year's weekend pass is a 3-day not a 4-day pass.
If you want to come on Thursday night there is now a charge. If you
register for a weekend pass by the end of the month a Thursday night
pass will only cost you $1. After 9/30 the price goes up to $5. This is
still nominal compared to what other events charge.
We are hoping that you will join us for a great party, two great
divisions - Hip Hop Lindy and Showtime not at the Apollo. We are still
working on celebrity judges. We have one tentatively set, but are still
asking several looking for at least two more.
Other news - Theere will be a one-day Take Your Vitamins, Eat YOur
Wheaties workshop on Oct. 18 in Detroit. Workshops will be taught by
Paulette Brockington with Deor Orzame. In addtion to 3 intermediate
advanced classes there will be a 3-hour Learn To Swing Dance Intensive.
Workshop attendees who take either all three afternoon classes or The
Swingh Intensive receive complimentary entry into the dj'd dance that
night. The dance starts at 9pm. Entry is $5. Check the web page for more
info. BTW, Jason Herron is, also, planning a Jack and Jill competition
as part of the dance. More info about that will be forthcoming.
And those of you interested in the ALHC class schedule it will hopefully
be out in about a week. I'm still waiting to hear back from teachers.

Save June 18-20, 2004 for The American Open.
Save Oct. 21-24, 2004 for The American Lindy Hop Championships.
