Admiral James G. Stavridis first official visit to Israel
The Commander of the United States Army European Command (EUCOM), Admiral James G. Stavridis, landed in Israel a short while ago and began an official three day visit.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss matters of cooperation between the two militaries, during which he will visit the combined Israel-US exercise, Juniper Cobra 10, which is currently taking place.
During his visit, Admiral James G. Stavridis is scheduled to meet with the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Maj. Gen. Benjamin Gantz and several other commanders. The Admiral will be accompanied by other EUCOM commanders.
This is the Admiral's first official visit to Israel. The Admiral is scheduled to attend a memorial ceremony in the Yad Va'Shem Holocaust Memorial and Museum as well as tour the city of Jerusalem.

US European Commander Arrives in Israel
Admiral James G. Stavridis, the commander of United States forces in Europe, landed in Israel Sunday afternoon for a three-day working visit as the guest of Deputy Chief-of-Staff Benny Gantz.
During the visit, aimed at advancing cooperation between Israel and the European command (EUCOM), the admiral will view the joint American-Israeli Juniper Cobra 10 exercise, which is simulating a missile attack on Israel.
The admiral and senior members of his staff are expected to meet with Gantz, Chief-of-Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and senior Israeli officers. As part of the EUCOM commander's first visit to Israel, he is also scheduled to tour Jerusalem and lay a wreath at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial.
