Armenia increases number of peacekeepers in Kosovo=20
Strengthening cooperation with NATO, Armenia will consolidate positions in =
the region, said Eduard Sharmazanov, spokesman for the ruling Republican Pa=
rty of Armenia.=20
He refuted the hearsay that Armenian peacekeepers are under Turkish command=
in Afghanistan. =E2=80=9CWe are collaborating with NATO but not with Turke=
y. Armenian peacekeepers are located in northern Afghanistan within a Germa=
n unit,=E2=80=9D he said.
Sharmazanov also informed that Armenia increased the number of its peacekee=
pers in Kosovo.

Armenia, NATO developing cooperation=20
Armenia-NATO cooperation is successfully developing. New events in the fram=
ework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan, said Robert Simmons, NATO =
special representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.
=E2=80=9CWe are continuing cooperation with the Armenian Defense Ministry. =
NATO assists the implementation of reforms and development of strategically=
important documents,=E2=80=9D he told a news conference in Yerevan.
Mr. Simmons said the Alliance is thankful to Armenia for participation in p=
eacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan.
He also informed that NATO is negotiating establishment of an anti-crisis r=
eaction center with the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
