hich =E2=80=9Cmodern Georgia=E2=80=9D should be built, President Saakashvil=
i said on November 6.
Saakashvili was explaining his vision on the matter at a televised meeting =
with a group of students from the Tbilisi-based Ilia Chavchavadze Universit=
y.
Drawing on a chart board, Saakashvili told the students: =E2=80=9CWe should=
understand what those two triangles are on which success is based in moder=
n life.=E2=80=9D
He listed =E2=80=9Chistory of multiethnic Georgia=E2=80=9D, as well as Geor=
gian language and =E2=80=9Cmilitary-patriotic education=E2=80=9D as element=
s of the first triangle, which he drew on the chart board.
On military-patriotic education he said that Georgia planned to reestablish=
a school of cadets, where it will be able to launch military education sta=
rting from the age of 14.
=E2=80=9CThe second triangle, without which modern, competitive Georgian ca=
nnot exist =E2=80=93 it is, of course, computer skills, mathematics and kno=
wledge of foreign languages,=E2=80=9D Saakashvili said.
=E2=80=9CThese two triangles =E2=80=93 computers, mathematics, foreign lang=
uages and on the other hand, history, language and military-patriotic educa=
tion with taking into account the necessity of integration of our national =
minorities - are those major cornerstones, those cornerstones on which mode=
rn Georgia stands and through which we will achieve success and defeat egoi=
stic and particularistic mentality,=E2=80=9D he said.
