Digi Beta archiving

I recently got a digital beta tape with 10:00 of important historical
footage of the Marine Band. What is my best option for archiving this
tape. I am planning to create a DVD accession copy, which will involve
spinning the tape to HD. Is there a file format I should transfer to at
the same time, perhaps with an eye towards archiving to optical disc?
One wrinkle is that we do not have the capability of digital beta
playback, will have the transfer done by a local studio, but may want to
have access to an archival source in the future without having to
arrange another transfer of the digi beta.
