Potomac River Watershed Cleanup
3,561 volunteers removed 161 tons (322,000
pounds) of trash during the Cleanup! That weighs
more than 30 school buses. If you lined up the
garbage that was collected, it would stretch for
more than 3 miles! Plus, individuals invested
over 10,000 volunteer hours.

TRANSPORTATION bill expected to pass after deal - Gazette
In Prince George's, the bill calls for $5 million
to improve intersections on Indian Head Highway
from Route 228 to the Capital Beltway and $10
million toward designing and building an
interchange that would connect Branch Avenue,
Route 373 and Brandywine Road.

FBI Proposes Increased Wiretapping Privileges - Sentinel
The resolution specifically states that county
authorities will not provide surveillance of
groups or individuals.... Council members
Marilynn Bland (D-PG 9th District), Camille Exum
(D-PG 7th District) and Doug Peters (D-PG 4th
District) co-sponsored the resolution.

R. Hendershot, was passed November 25, 2003 and
argues that the Patriot Act "conflicts with the

Friendly HS Gospel Choir Brings Home Honors From On High - PGCPS Good News
On March 26, the Friendly HS Gospel Choir won
third place at the National Gospel Choir
Competition in Brooklyn, New York. Forty-eight
students participated in the competition directed
by Mr. Wesly Boyd. Friendly HS represented
Prince George's County Public Schools amongst
some of the most prestigious performing arts
schools and academies from across the country.

Fourth Annual JEWELRY BAZAAR
to benefit the Alice Ferguson Foundation's Environmental Education Program
Saturday, April 17
5-8 p.m.
at the Moyaone Community Building
(right next to Hard Bargain Farm at Bryan Point Road)
If you haven't participated before, this is your chance to exchange your no
longer worn or wanted jewelry for new pieces for yourself or for gifts
(think Mother's Day, a favorite aunt, teacher, or special person in your
life). The jewelry for sale is moderately priced and valuable pieces will
be put up for silent auction.

Foundation

Admission is only $2. If you donate jewelry (set a value for tax
deduction-we have a form to use) you get free admission.
Munchies, wine and cider will be offered, to add to your sparkling
conversations amongst the throngs of treasure-hunters.
