Harrington withdraws proposed zoning bill
"Text amendments take away the citizens' rights
to argue over what's going to go in their
community," said Joe Brice, president of the
Prince George's County Civic Federation at a May
12 meeting with roughly 75 concerned residents to
discuss the zoning legislation.
Councilwoman Marilynn Bland (D-Dist. 9) of
Clinton weighed in as well at the meeting, saying
legislation for District 9 should not have been
presented without consulting her first.

PLANNERS delay development at historic site - Gazette
Developer Leo Bruso has battled for two years for
the right to develop riverfront property that
some historians call an archeological site. For
Bruso, the fight has entered into extra rounds.
The houses are expected to sale for at least $1 million each.
But the property has been known as Tent Landing.
In May 2003, the County Council acting as the
District Council renamed the property the "Broad
Creek Archeological Site" to designate it as a
historic site.
