KIDNAPPING: On May 28 at approximately 10 p.m., a 21-year-old
Baltimore man was in the parking lot of the St. Charles Towne Center
in the 11000 block of Mall Circle in Waldorf when a suspect
approached him and forced him into a vehicle, which is described as a
dark-colored early 90's model Pontiac Grand Am. The suspect assaulted
and shot the victim and left him in the 1800 block of Accokeek Road
in Prince George's County. A citizen located the victim and notified
the Prince George's County Police Department. The victim was flown to
Prince George's General Hospital where he is in stable condition.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a
suspect, Jacobi Marquette Williams, 17, of Waldorf. Detectives
obtained an arrest warrant for Williams on May 31, and the warrant
was served on June 2. Williams was charged with Attempted First
Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless
Endangerment and Kidnaping.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the abduction is

Football refs being sought
The Washington District Football Officials Association is seeking
referees for the 2004 season. No experience is required. The WDFOA
officiates high school games in Prince George's, Charles, Calvert,
St. Mary's, Montgomery, Howard and Queen Anne's counties in Maryland
and in Washington, D.C.
Preseason rules-study and on-field training sessions begin at 7 p.m.
July 6 at High Point High School, 3601 Powder Mill Rd. in Beltsville,
or at 7 p.m. July 8 at Gwynn Park High School, 13800 Brandywine Rd.
in Brandywine. You may attend whichever location is more convenient.
