On this date, April 27, in the year...
1918: A.R. Appenheimer leaves Headquarters Detachment at Sommedieue
and is posted to 77th Company occupying front line trenches in
Moulainville Sector with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. He records in
his diary: "Came to 77 Co. on Detached Duty, driving a ration cart.
Take rations to galley at Aix every night. Galley in second line
trenches. Was busted for insolence to Sgt Major Swan, so am a Pvt
again."
1919: A.R. Appenheimer at Quantico, Virginia, awaiting completion of
discharge paperwork.
