Beyond the Backyard: Birding for Beginners
Principal Instructor: Debora Diggins
Co-leader: Stephen Baker

You've been watching backyard birds for awhile and want to venture out but feel a little unprepared. Or, you've been birding awhile and would like some help improving your birding skills. This course will help you learn how to identify birds. We will discuss what to look for when studying a bird in the field, and how to use a field guide to help you make the correct identification. We will also review birding optics, how they work and how to use them. Bring binoculars and field guides to the classroom session AND the field trip.

Time and place of classroom session: Saturday April 23, 10-12:00. Robbins Library Community Room

Field Trip: Saturday April 30, 8:00-10:30. Place to be announced at classroom session.

The cost of the course will be $10 for the classroom session and $5 per person for the field trip workshop. Please include name/names of enrollees and an email address for confirmation.

Space is limited (especially on the field trip) so it will be on a first paid first served basis.
