Nearly half a million road accidents a year are caused by women drivers
applying make-up, according to a new survey. Diamond Insurance polled
4,000 women and found twenty-seven per cent confessed to putting on
make-up and nine per cent of those aged 18 or younger have had a crash
while doing so - three times the average.

OOPS WRONG HOUSE
Sweden's K3 cavalry division, an elite commando squad akin to American
Seals blew up the wrong house in a night time training excercise. They
were supposed to attack an unoccupied home bought by the military for
attack drills. The blew out the windows and doors of a home 200 yards
away. Fortunately the couple who owned the house weren't in it at the
time. An army spokesman said: "We've already cleaned up after ourselves
and we have, of course, contacted the owner. There's no hard feelings
between us."
BURNING FAVRE GEAR-UPDATE
The Milwaukee Burger Co. planned a halftime promotion for Monday night's
Green Bay Packers game with the Minnesota Vikings. They wanted fans to
bring their Favre memorabilia to burn in a big barrel. Now the fire
dept. has nixed the idea of a large fire and only one Favre jesey can be
burned. Everything else fans bring will be donated to Goodwill with the
bar and grill donating 10 bucks for each item a customer contributes.

BIG CANDY STORE
Candylicious is being touted as the world's largest confectionay store,
with over 10,000 square feet of sweets in one of the world's largest
malls, The Dubai mall. The store will sell everything from chocolates,
soda and popcorn, was aiming for sales of $10 million annually. The
place features a huge 10-meter singing chocolate tree decorated with
lollipops.

ROCKTOBER IN COLORADO
Gov. Bill Ritter wasted no time proclaiming Rocktober after the Rockies'
9-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers to advance to the playoffs. The
Rockies wrapped up the National League wild card spot. The type in the
e-mail from the governor's office was purple, the team's color.

A man walked into a Beech Grove, Ind. Walgreens and put $2 down for a
soda, then when the clerk opened the register he told her it was a
robbery and got away with $97. Then he returned to get the drink he
bought, but had left on the counter. They're still looking for him.
DEATH FROM ABOVE
Paula Ollie, 27, a mother of three, said she was alone at her North
Richland Hills home just after 2 p.m. Tuesday when she heard two men
talking quietly outside of the house. The men all dressed in black then
appeared to be coming to break into the house. That's when she filled
her son's bike helmet with billiard balls and climbed a backyard tree to
the roof. "I went to the front of the house and yelled 'Death from
above' and started throwing the pool balls," Ollie said. "I nailed him
in the back," Ollie said of a man approaching her bedroom window. "I
then started throwing at the one at the front door and got him, but I
don't know where I hit him. I did miss once because there's a dent in
the front door."
REALLY STUPID CRIMINAL
Probably the last place you should steal from is a police station and
the Police chief's office in particular. That's what John Prentis did.
In the middle of the afternoon. He kicked in the door of the chief's
office and stole $1000 from an evidence room inside. He then the door
and wiping his fingerprints from the knob, police said. How do we know
this ? The surveillance camera that caught the whole thing on tape.

SHOW N TELL ?
Lake Park Elementary in Naples, FL. had an unwanted guest Tuesday. An 8
foot alligator wandered into the school. Fortunately it was about 6:30
am before any of the kids got to the school. "The trapper arrived very
quickly and was able secure the alligator before any children arrived,"
Lake Park Elementary Principal Tamie Stewart said. "Everyone was safe.
We were most appreciative of everyone's help."
ONE BIG SCREEN
The world's largest HD video screen has been revealed measuring a
massive 11,400 sq ft. Bigger than 3,000 52inch TV sets put together, the
"Diamond Vision" screens sit above the field at the Dallas Cowboys
stadium, despite weighing a hefty 600 tons. There are four screens there
in total, with two measuring 72 feet high by 160 feet and two other
which are 29 feet high by 51 feet wide.
