Dear Sisters and friends,
The memory of the dark mother may be considered the bass music of the story of humanity from prehistory to the present. The bass music remembering the dark mother, it is my hypothesis, has continued to resonate up to the present in popular cultures underneath imposed, or adopted, religions of judaism, christianity, and islam.

Getting this in the mail today from Awakened Woman was a wonderful conformation to what I have found myself doing recently.
A few days ago as I sat in my rocking chair beside the radio, listening with despair to news about severe climate change, to news of mountain tops being "blown off" to suck out coal deposits in beautiful country, to news of genetically modified seeds contaminating our basic plants all over the US . . .
images of those men of single thought and mind--who plan war attacks or blow off mountain tops, who rape and torture and kill, who violate innocent children and women and men, who fill the land with pesticides, and carcinigins, who dare to manipulate the building blocks of life . . . . . all those who destroy life, who have lost touch with humanity . . . . . crossed my mind, then suddenly melded into a single form, a single force. (The force of evil, of course.)
And, I said out loud with great strength. "I send an arrow into your heart. I send an arrow into your brain. May the Earth be cleansed of you!
And, later in the day as I stood before my full length mirror, with my Indian "intention arrow" on the wall beside the mirror, I said it again, looking directly into my own eyes in the mirror.
