Dear Mr. Bush,
Since this is a re-election year in which you are continuing your term, and
most of all, because it will not look good to the country and the rest of the
world for you and all of Washington, DC to spend millions of dollars on a gala
celebration with luxurious costumes and settings about which the people
devastated by the recent tsunami can only dream, I am, as a conscientious American,
requesting that you cancel the festivities.
I think it would be an excellent gesture to donate all the money not already
spent on this display of our wealth to organizations dedicated to the help and
relief of victims of this terrible tragedy, and recommend to all those
involved that they do the same.
