At the end of a long Arlington County Board meeting last night, the BMCA
Neighborhood Conservation Plan was formally accepted by the Board!
This happy event is the culmination of countless hours by many dedicated
neighbors over the past ten years. Everyone in our neighborhood owes
thanks to the those who have contributed to the process.
Congratulations and very special thanks go to Matt Doyle, who has led
the effort over the past year and presented our plan to the various
county groups and to the Board last night. He represented our
neighborhood well, giving a presentation that was organized and
effective, yet also warm and humorous, which was appreciated by the
Board.
Now we will move forward with the next steps. We are already working
with other county staff on projects related to pedestrian safety and
traffic. I am sending today a letter to the county informing them that
we want to begin work on the signs at the four entrances to our
neighborhood.
