Movie at Bluemont Park on Sat. Aug 29 -"Night at the Museum 2"

Veterans Appreciation Night will be held on the Bluemont Park baseball
fields on Saturday, August 29, beginning after sunset, with a showing of
the newly released "Night at the Museum 2". All Boulevard Manor
residents are welcome and encouraged to attend this fun event.
Background: A group from California holds a Veterans Appreciation Night
in 5 cities across the country every year. This year Arlington was one
of the locations chosen for this event. This event consists of a
family rated movie, with popcorn and canned sodas. Local veterans and
the surrounding community are invited, and the event is free for
everyone. The set-up will begin about 5pm, which is just bringing the
outdoor screen to the site. The movie would run approximately 2 hours,
beginning just after sunset. They are going to be showing “Night at
the Museum 2”. It is the latest release so hopefully many of you have
not seen it yet and will enjoy the viewing.
Since this event is for the purpose of expressing appreciation of our
Veterans, it is expected that many disabled Vets will be in attendance
with their families, so the event will be held on the flat fields at
Bluemont. The fields are not truly accessible but, with assistance,
wheelchairs can get out onto the field.
County park staff will be present for the event. The police and fire
department are aware of the event and will be on stand-by should there
be any issues. The rangers will also be on hand. Should there be any
issues the policy is to call 911.
