APPRAISING YOUR TREASURES
A special event at the Ball-Sellers House will offer the opportunity to
obtain appraisals of your family treasures, including china, small
furniture, and other keepsakes on Saturday, September 12, from 1:00 to
3:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Arlington Historical Society, this event,
which might be seen as Arlington's answer to the Antiques Road Show,
will take place at the historic Ball-Sellers House, 5620 Third Street
South, Arlington, VA 22204.
The appraiser will be Dr. Jerome Ford, a noted authority on antiques
and other precious items. There will be a limit of three objects per
person. Suggested donations to benefit the Ball-Sellers House are $10
for a single object or $25 for three treasures. In addition to
suggesting
an informal monetary value for an object, Dr. Ford will identify and
discuss the significance of an item.
Those with reservations will be appraised first. To reserve a time,
contact Jane Casey by e-mail at apprais-@gmail.com. In case of rain
the event will take place in Carlin Hall, 5711 Fourth Street South,
behind the Glencarlyn Library. The Ball-Sellers House is a property of
the Arlington Historical Society, www.ArlingtonHistoricalSociety.com.
