| Purpose: |
War and twelve years of U.N. economic sanctions on Iraq have had horrendous consequences for ordinary people in Iraq, especially children. Threats of escalated war by the current U.S. Administration paint an even dimmer picture of their future. This list has three main functions: 1.) learning more about the humanitarian situation in Iraq--and U.S. policy toward Iraq, 2.) discussing the sitation and "what we should do" and 3.) coordinating possible responses to the evolving crisis. The list is open to all and does not represent the official positions of the Church of the Brethren. See website below for more background. |
