JOB Announcement

Position Title: Colusa Basin Watershed Coordinator

Job Description: The Colusa County Resource Conservation District (CCRCD)
has an opening for a Watershed Coordinator (WC) for the Colusa Basin
Watershed (CBW). This is a part-time to full time-temporary position funded
through state grant funding. The WC will facilitate the development of a
community based watershed management plan for the CBW, work to build the
capacity of the CCRCD and assist with the CCRCD's scope of work associated
with the CAFF agreement (attached). The WC duties will be directed towards
improving and sustaining collaboration and communications between local
stakeholders and agencies to insure that holistic watershed health is
addressed within the watershed.

The position will begin ASAP and terminate on August 31, 2010.
This position has the possibility of being extended through December 2011
and longer with successful grant writing/fundraising endeavors. The WC will
work under the day to day supervision and direction of the CCRCD District
Manager.

Job Duties:
. Coordinate activities with numerous partners that share a common
interest in protecting, conserving and enhancing natural resources in the
CBW.
. Facilitate a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Citizen's
Advisory Group (CAG) to provide input for the watershed management plan.
. Organize, plan and facilitate public outreach endeavors
. Assist the consultant with the limited streambank analysis
. Assist Colusa County and local city governments within the watershed
address soil, water and related resources concerns and the impact associated
with development and growth
. Maintain detailed records of grant tasks and deliverables completed
. Work towards the development of a locally lead CBW management plan
. Assist is writing proposals for future grant projects within the
Colusa Basin Watershed
. Provide monthly activity reports to the CCRCD Board of Directors

Job Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree in an agricultural or environmental related field
or related experience.
. Excellent people skills, ability to work effectively with a large
variety of individuals with varying priorities within the watershed
. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
. Excellent organizational skills
. Knowledge of and interest in Colusa County agriculture and natural
resources
. Excellent computer skills (Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint,
internet applications).
. Experience with website development and upkeep a plus.
. Current California Driver's License with a clean driving record and
automobile insurance
. Knowledge and experience with the watershed management planning
process a plus.
. Ability to flex daily hours to accommodate occasional night and
weekend obligations
. Employment will be contingent upon a background check and a
pre-employment physical that will include a drug screen


Salary Range:
Salary is negotiable depending on experience (Range $16-$20 per hour),
benefit package after six months depending on number of hours worked.

CAFF Project Scope of Work

Site Design
Work with NRCS and Audubon to define sites
Supervise implementation of practices
Assist with installation if needed
Photo document all installation and each grower site
Monthly reporting of progress at each site
Communication with growers at each site
Secure contractors to do onsite work
Maintain good communication with Audubon, NRCS, CAFF

Outreach
Assist with writing of press releases
Assist with developing grower survey
Maintain personal contacts with local growers, industry people, and other
local
People interested in the project and to promote conservation practices in
almond orchards
Contribute to newsletter, fact sheets, manual
Assist with locating and securing sites for field days, set up,
coordinate

Reporting
Contribute to monthly reports
Contribute to final report

Website maintenance
