Action Alert

*SUPPORT FEDERAL FUNDING TO SAFEGUARD WILDLIFE FROM GLOBAL WARMING!*

Help us convince Congress to make a stronger investment in protecting

California's wildlife!

Please join us in urging Senator Dianne Feinstein to support President
Obama's request of $115 million for the State and Tribal Wildlife Grants
program in the Fiscal Year 2010 budget.

Obama's budget request includes $40 million more than the amount
proposed by Congress - specifically to incorporate global warming into
State Wildlife Action Plans.

The State and Tribal Wildlife Grants Program is the only federal program
dedicated to implementation of State Wildlife Action Plans, aimed at
preventing wildlife from becoming endangered. These plans are being used
across the country to prioritize and guide crucial wildlife conservation
work.

Global warming is now the single greatest threat facing California's
wildlife. The additional $40 million proposed by President Obama would
give our state a jump start in integrating global warming into
California's Wildlife Action Plan - helping ensure that our response to
global warming is grounded in science and based on sound policy.

By conserving wildlife and their habitat we also protect recreational
opportunities that contribute $730 billion annually and help sustain 6.5
million American jobs.
