Hi friends,

As we come coasting to the end of 2008, we want to wish all of you, all over
the globe, a very special Holiday Greeting and our wishes for a successful
and upbeat new year in 2009...because it can't get any worse, right?

Man, it has been one of the toughest years in my life, and I know it can't
have been any easier for you the last few months.

This is just the short list...

   - The economy has tanked...
   - millions of people are out of work, and more layoffs, factory closings,
and industry shutdowns are coming in the next few weeks...
   - unemployment levels are the highest in 26 years (I'm looking for a full
time job myself, while working part time...and I've put out over 50 resumes
   in the last 6 months)...
   - the 2008 election cycle showed the world that US citizens DEMAND
change...and Oh Man, did we get change...
   - The big 3 car makers are about to go under.
   - $700 billion bucks of OUR money has been spent by our own
representatives, without our ok...to help their corporate buddies get bailed
   out...
   - Banks around the world are closing, and bank runs have happened the
   world over
   - Lenders appear to be on track to initiate 2.25 million foreclosures
   this year..
   - Gas prices hit the highest they've EVER been and have now dropped to
prices not seen since March 2004 ...almost 5 years ago...
   - $2 trillion has simply evaporated...from our shores...
   - War still rages, terrorism still spreads, and our leaders tell us,
we're going to get hit again.

Not exactly happy days, huh?

So, what's happening that's good?

Well, besides cheap gasoline, the energy industry is booming...families are
becoming closer knit due to the economic conditions..and
...uhmmm...welllll...

Not much more I can think of that's positive right at this moment.

But, I've got some good news...

I saved a bunch of money at ....oh, you've heard that one...

(sorry)...

Well, I did mention a few minor things in the subject line of this email, so
let's just get to those, so you can get back to either looking for a job,
fighting for your job, or firing someone that works for you, so you can have
THEIR job, when YOUR job goes away.

*FORUMS...*

The SurvivalRing Community Center, our freshly updated high end Forums
message base at SurvivalRing.org, has really taken off the last few weeks,
thanks to a good friend of mine who came to bat for me (while I was
finishing yet more college classes this semester). Mike Rondot, a gentleman
I've known for a VERY long time, has come on board as a co-admin for the
forums, and with him some great reconfiguration and layout of the forum
system, We have dozens of new downloads directly in the forum area, a
massive amount of new topic areas, and 2 dozen new members just in the last
month.

If you haven't visited the forums lately (like, oh, since...2004), drop on
by, say hi, re-register your old username (if you had one in our old
Ikonboard software), and jump right in.

Where are they, you say?

Right here.... www.survivalring.org/SR_forums

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...

Ok...next topic?

*Friends...*

James Wesley Rawles, the author of the ever more popular *Patriots* book, is
kicking some serious web traffic buttocks these days.

Jim posts every afternoon to his world famous
www.SurvivalBlog.com<http://www.survivalblog.com/>
. He's been interviewed almost more than I was for y2k, for the current econ
issues and fiscally fabulous faux paus as the world churns.

I consider Jim a good friend, a wonderful human being, and a man after my
own heart...he delves into issues both dark...and enlightening... He helps
people of all social statuses, influences the rich and powerful, and
possibly even affects the tides with the tremendous web site traffic he is
getting on a regular basis.

His blog is one I visit SEVERAL times a day, and NOT just because he
mentions me on his Kudoes page.

If you want to be where Point is, in this rugged, raging flood of crashes,
corruption, and chaos, bookmark his blog, read his daily thoughts, and maybe
even send a bpocketful of old silver coins his way.

You'll be glad you did...I promise. Jim IS one of the Good Guys.

*UPDATES...*

If you haven't been on the SurvivalRing homepage for a few months, or a
couple of years, drop on by. I've got 500 new downloads for you in the
/allhazards/ <http://www.survivalring.org/allhazards/> and
/bunker/<http://www.survivalring.org/bunker/>folders...and hundreds
more to come. Think field manuals, think software
for running your own online business, think nifty planning tools for
prepping. We got'em ...come and get yours.

I've got several new site tools coming online after the first of the year,
including those LONG awaited podcasts, several video projects, radio
interviews, and oh, yes...HUNDREDS of new civil defense documents.

In the last 4 months, I've invested over $3,000 in hardware (had to...I wore
both my desktop and laptop out).

I'm now running a dual quad core Dell desktop for my CD and video projects,
as well as production of cds and dvds. My new laptop, a Dell Studio 15, has
a Duo core Intell processor, 4 gig of Ram, 320 Gig drive, builtin video
camera, wireless AND broadband, and some REALLY nifty bells and
whistles..and it's my web design master tool.

Then, there's the new printer...a Brother MCF-6490CW multifunction system.
It prints (of course), but also scans, copies, faxes, AND both scans AND
prints up to 11x17 projects. It also has a 50 sheet automatic paper feeder
(FINALLY!!!), so I can really get started scanning in those hundreds of
thousands of pages of hardcopy documents I have in my vast collection of
original, authentic documents, some going back all the way to the early 40s.

And finally, the Beast. I finally broke down and invested in a Disk
Duplicator. Not just any old duplicator, mind you, but one that can do CDs,
DVDs, and even Dual Layer dvd disks...and it has 4 Dvd burners with a 250
gig hard drive for the masters to be loaded on. It can do almost 60 CDs an
hour, or 36 dvds an hour.

Yousa...It Is Hot....

I've already put all this hardware to good use.

If you haven't seen it yet, I'd like to introduce you to the newest digital
archive from the *SurvivalRing Media Project*.

*That 4 DVD set I mentioned...*
**
What has 44 CDs of data, over 4,000 digital documents with a
preparedness/survival orientation, and take 30 gigabytes to install...oh,
and costs less than a full steak dinner for two at a fancy restaurant?

The NEW, Massive, and fully portable *Appropriate Technology Library*.

http://www.survivalring.org/survivalcd/?page_id=127

Just about two weeks old, with already 4 dozen sets sold, this library is a
portable version of the CD3WD project, created and enhanced several times by
Alex Weir, a citizen of Zimbabwe (a place where inflation has hit eleven
MILLION percent...this year).

Alex started with a 2 cd set of data several years ago, from many open
source locations...building a library that could be taken to any third world
nation, taught and shared with the citizens of badly stricken areas, and
create opportunities for self sufficiency that never would have had a
chance, until now.

Alex hosts 44 CDs of data now ( www.cd3wd.com ), has it mirrored at
Download.com, and requests ANYONE, with the time, webspace, and patience to
help spread his project to all corners of the globe.

I've prepared an online mirror of ALL 44 CD images, at SurvivalRing, here...

www.survivalring.org/alex/downloads

So, that gives you THREE places to get it for free.

But, if you're like me, you don't have the time to download, sort, file,
prepare, and otherwise grab ALL those fiiles, maybe fighting dialup download
speeds, drive space issues, shared lines, or other problems accessing such a
vast, resourceful project.

Ta-Da!!!

I didn't sleep much the weekend of Thanksgiving, because I finally decided
to resolve that issue, and created an ON DISK package of the entire set of
all 4,000 documents. I even wrote a 10 page manual on how to install it on
your home computer.

I've created a thorough step by step process on how to set up your library,
in a pdf format file, which you can download here...

http://www.survivalring.org/AT-LIBRARY-InstallationNotes.pdf

Page one includes expert steps. The other pages give screen shots of the
entire process of extracting and setting up your library.

Yes, it's all free, if you want to download it. However, this is the cool
part..

I've got the 4 DVD set ready to ship, to anyone who wants to save hours and
days downloading and figuring out how to create the library from all those
downloads...

AND, I've giving it all to you for MY COST, of $40...*which includes disks,
labels, ink, dvd case, mailer, AND priority postage*. Get it here...

http://www.survivalring.org/survivalcd/?page_id=127

OR, read a LITTLE bit further...

Yes, HERE'S the BEST part...consider it my christmas gift to all of you who
take this opportunity.

Visit THIS page...

http://www.survivalring.org/survivalcd/?page_id=183

And visit it NOW...and save up to $12 bucks on that package. I'm running
what's called a *FIRESALE*. I've taken 12 bucks off that $40 price, and
start this offer Today, Saturday, December 13th, 2008, at that VERY low
price of only $28 for the entire set...POSTAGE PAID.

For the next 12 days, the price goes up $1 a day...so Sunday, the cost is
$29...Monday, the cost is $30. On Christmas Day, it's back to regular
price...but then the price increases to full retail, of $50, on New Years
Day, 2009.

The sooner you lock in your price, the cheaper you get this MASSIVE set.

Read ALL the details about this libary of self sufficiency, self reliance,
third world recovery projects (just the thing if you live in a part of the
world, where big natural disasters happen...you know, like KATRINA...) at
the page here...

http://www.survivalring.org/survivalcd/?page_id=127

But, buy it here...and the sooner the better.

http://www.survivalring.org/survivalcd/?page_id=183

Any questions? Any suggestions? Any Problems?

Bueller?   Bueller?

Ok...it's 3am, the thrill is gone...

Oops, wrong song...

It *is* time to hit the sack...long day, starting out with the LATEST job
interview I've had...a state job...administrative assistant, at the local
PEN...The Wyoming Honor Farm Correctional Facility.

State job, pays decent, excellent benefits....close to home.

Literally...I can see the cows off my back porch...(if you don'''t believe
me, I WILL upload a picture...don't make me do it!   )

That's all for now.

As always, if I can help you with any prepping problem, just email me right
here...

And seriously, have a GREAT and JOYFUL holiday season...

Rich
