Tell Congress: Allow Cuba Travel  Progressive Portal

BOTH HOUSES HAVE PASSED LEGISLATION LIFTING THE TRAVEL BAN;
NOW CONFERENCE COMMITTEE MUST BE PRESSED TO KEEP THE PROVISION

Advocates of free travel to Cuba are closer than ever to lifting the
travel ban, but urgently need support to make sure that the
Transportation-Treasury Appropriations bill reach the President's hands
with the Cuba travel amendments intact.

Both Houses of Congress have passed legislation that would lift the ban
on travel from the U.S. to Cuba. The provision is included in the
funding bill for the Transportation and Treasury Departments.

This victory caught opponents off-guard, and they are likely to mount a
major effort to get the provision removed in the conference committee (a
House-Senate committee that will iron out differences between the two
houses' versions). Immediate calls and emails to legislators are needed
to preserve the travel provisions.

Take Action
-----------------------------------

(1) TOP PRIORITY: If your legislators are on the House-Senate conference
committee (list is below), urge them to hold firm on lifting the travel
ban; if you know people residing in their districts, ask them to contact
their legislators:

(2) Urge your Senator to continue supporting lifting the Cuba travel
ban:
