Sunstone Vineyard and Winery
The Rice family has established the Sunstone Vineyard and Winery in the
Santa Ynez valley. It is one of the largest organic
vineyard estates in Santa Barbara County. The vineyard overlooks the
Santa Ynez River, has ideal south-sloping exposure
and its sandy, rocky soil, its microclimate with early morning fog, warm
breezy afternoons and cool evenings make it a
perfect spot for organic grape growing. The vineyard planted to Rhone
and Bordeaux varietals, meets all California Certified
Organic Farmer (C.C.O.F.) standards.

Zax Restaurant
"It's California casual at its best: Zax has perfected the art of the
neighborhood bistro."
review by Irene Virbila, LA Times July 30th 2003
Zax in Brentwood is a contemporary American Bistro featuring the highly
acclaimed creations of Executive Chef Gavin
Portsmouth. Just 27 years old, Gavin Portsmouth has made his way west
from England. His new menu is inspired by many
of his favorite family recipes while at the same time upholding Zax's
reputation for rustic, contemporary American cuisine.
