Time is running short to make a reservation for the mid-19th century
party at the El Molino Viejo in San Marino, July 11, 5-8 p.m. The event offers
a chance to taste not only the spirit of early California that permeates the
perfectly preserved 1816 grist mill, but also budding California cuisine that
bubbled out of the Gold Rush cultural stew.
Festivities include wine, music of the period, raffle and tour of the Old
Mill, now a museum and art gallery.
In the custom of the Culinary Historians of Southern California, guests
contribute a dish from the planned menu, with recipes researched by a CHSC
committee.
