7 LAYER SALAD WITH A TWIST

Man decides he will prove the old saying that you can't take it with you
wrong. So he takes all the money out of the bank and hides it in the attic.
This goes on for years and he finally dies. The wife is curious, so after
the funeral she goes up to the attic and finds the money is all still there,
so she says " I knew it--I tried to tell that old fool that he should have
hidden the money in the basement."

7 LAYER SALAD WITH A TWIST.

13 x 9 x 2 dish
1st layer-cauliflower bite size florets
2nd layer-can of LeSeur English peas-drained
3rd layer-cover lightly with mayonaise
4th layer-sprinkle evenly a couple of T. of sugar
5th layer-sprinkle crumbled up crisp bacon
6th layer-shredded lettuce
7th layer-grated cheddar cheese
Better when made ahead so flavors can marry
4. SOUR CREAM TOPPED CHEESECAKE
I use the 2 extra servings size Keebler pre-made graham cracker crust-recipe
too much for standard pie crust.
Filling:
2 eight oz cream cheese
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
Mix and put in crust-bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Remove and add topping.
Topping:
8 oz. sour cream
1/3 cup sugar
1 t. vanilla
Top cheesecake and bake 5-7 minutes more. Chill and enjoy.
I don't cook much anymore, but will check out your recipes when I finish
dieting. Have always weighed around 97 (too thin) until I was 45, but with
some health/medication problems over the last 3 years got up to 180. Have
lost 40, have 30 to go.
