RE: Helpful Critical Mass website  Paul Dorn

Hello David, et al,

Sorry for delay responding; I was away for the weekend and in Sacto for
the anti-GMO protests yesterday. Anyway, our next Critical Mass in
Davis happens this Friday 6/27. We need to get the word out. E-mail
works fairly well, and the Davis peace group has already sent out a
notice for the ride.

David has offered to send a notice to the Davis Enterprise, which is
great. Flyering is also a great method: placing leaflets on parked
bikes at the Co-op or MU, or handing out flyers to cyclists stopped at
lights at 3rd and B, or Sycamore and Russell, etc. There are many
flyers out there in cyberspace to download and customize for our ride,
I especially like this one:

Others are available at:

Basically, Critical Mass will be whatever *WE* make it. I think there
was general consensus last month that more participants would be
better--more empowering, more fun. Also, I think we should have
definite ideas for destinations to suggest for a vote. Feel free to
make up a route suggestion, xerox and distribute.

I also think that more discussion would be helpful in enhancing the
mass, which is why I created the Topica list. I don't want to
monopolize it. Please invite your friends to join by e-mailing to
DavisCriticalM-@topica.com

List members can send messages to:
daviscrit-@topica.com

Also please share the website at:

See you all Friday.

Hi--

I will email annoucement and submit an announcement to the davis
enterprise. i can help post flyers if someone can make them up. i
think
word of mouth should be a strong vehicle at this point. also, i will
bring a route proposal and flyer to hand out to people during the
ride. I
know several people who plan to bring signs. What are other people
thinking?

David

 Hello all:

Here's an informative site on Critical Mass, providing links to
ride
info around the world. There's a helpful page on "how to" do the
rides.
Hey, makes sense to learn from other's experience, no?

http://criticalmassrides.info/

We should soon discuss idea of flyering for Critical Mass. The
"week
of" the event is the best time to publicize the ride. If not
flyers,
 other suggestions?

Happy Friday,

Paul
