The former Arts Council England site has become independent and is
always worth a look. Currently Colin Cameron gives an account of life
and love from a disability perspective in the creative writing section,
‘Crip Tales’, at
<http://www.disabilityarts.com/features/creative-writing/>

Editor Colin Hambrook watched the BBC documentary on the life and work
of disabled musician Robert Wyatt and asks why disabled artists of his
calibre are separate from the disability arts movement?

Last but not least visually impaired artist Lynn Cox extols the virtue’s
of Art Through Touch, an organisation which aims to promote and provide
access to art activity for people who are blind and partially sighted.

easy to use site.

* ScriptCircle *

This is a new web-based service by UK Theatre Web for the promotion,
publication and discussion of play scripts.

ScriptCircle allows playwrights to publicise complete and draft plays
whether they are already published elsewhere or not. Playwrights can
login and enter their own play details and, where they hold the rights,
they can also make scripts and performance licences available over the
web; free or for a fee, they decide. There's no subscriptions to pay, no
per-script costs, no artificial restrictions.

Performing companies seeking new scripts can come to the website to see
what's on offer.

The site also contains a range of links, book reviews, news and a
discussion forum.

* Graeae: Bent *

By Martin Sherman

“Germany in 1934, and amid awakening fascist terror and the persecution
of homosexuals, a surprising love story unfolds in Martin Sherman’s
masterpiece, BENT. From the seamy world of Berlin’s underground
nightclubs to the stark horror of Dachau, BENT is a harrowing account of
love, hate and prejudice, powerfully capturing an unforgettable chapter
in recent history. A play of importance, power and pathos which should
concern us all.” (The Guardian)

Bent was first staged in London 25 years ago, starring Ian McKellen. It
has since been produced in over 40 countries, and was made into a major
feature film in 1997. In Graeae’s new production, Director Jenny Sealey
combines audio description, sign language, live music and physicality to
create a shattering performance.
