and toured productions to theatres and schools ever since. Jigsaw
strives to make its productions accessible to both mainstream and
disabled audiences.

Sign-interpreted performance, The Arcola Theatre, 27 Arcola Street,
London E8 , <www.arcolatheatre.com>, on Wednesday 17 November at 8pm

A new play by Jennifer Farmer

rules beg to be broken…
Jennifer Farmer’s sharp and richly textured narrative explores the
relationships between three women prisoners – Chelle, Ruthie and Maya.
Old-timer Chelle is lonely. Maya is missing her children who don’t know
she’s in prison. Ruthie, in her early twenties, is a breath of fresh air
for Chelle, who thought she was done with friendship.”

Sharlene Whyte, directed by Sarah Esdaile, designed by Ti Green and
lighting by Natasha Chivers. The performance is signed by Jeni Draper
and the post-show discussion is signed by Alison Pottinger.

* Kids on Wheels *

No Limits Communications (US) has announced the release of its new
resource guide, Kids on Wheels. The book comes in two volumes: A Young
Person's Guide to Wheelchair Lifestyle (Vol. 1) and A Guide to
Wheelchair Lifestyle for Parents, Teachers and Professionals (Vol. 2).

“ While most titles about kids with disabilities instruct parents on
taking care of them, this book champions the view that kids who use
wheelchairs can make choices, shape their own lives and grow up to be as
independent as any child leaving the nest. To that end, Vol. 1 of Kids
on Wheels speaks directly to young wheelchair users, with profiles of
other kids, plus chapters on participating in the arts, understanding
media images, acquiring service animals, making friends and more -- in
short, anything that helps kids with disabilities live life to the
fullest. Throughout the book -- whether talking about making Halloween
costumes or leading student government or writing books -- the kids
interviewed speak openly to their peers about how to thrive living life
on wheels. “ ( No sex & relationships ??)
“The second volume, written for parents, teachers and disability
professionals, helps adults empower kids to live a full and independent
life. It includes tips from other families, plus detailed advice on
health, insurance, personal assistance, education, transportation,
technology and travel.” ( No sex & relationships ??)

"It's about time! A book written for kids, about kids, empowering them
to be their own decision makers, 'to make life the way they want it. “
(By kids??)

Kids, judge for yourselves, if you can find someone to pay the US Dollar
24.95 (plus P&P 15 for orders from the UK / Europe).
