IDES E-News Print Version September 30, 2009

Urgent Prayer Needs:
This just in: Austell, Georgia has record flooding. Austell Christian Church
in Austell, Georgia is
trying to keep up with all of the need in their community and beyond. "Over
50% of the homes in the
area were either destroyed or badly damaged. One report I saw said that more
than 85% of these people
had no flood insurance. These stories are everywhere in our area. We are
trying to do everything we
can to help as many as possible." -Minister in Austell, Georgia

Can you or your church help us raise money for the people of Georgia?

You can send a check or money order to: Marked- US Disasters
IDES
PO BOX 60
Kempton, IN

We will post updates and pictures as they become available

The Philippines are experiencing the worst flooding they have seen
in many years.   This storm has
killed at least 280 but as flood waters rise that number is expected to
increase.   Also two new storms
are brewing in the area and will make recovery to those areas more
difficult.   Up to two million are
without proper
shelter.

An Earthquake shook Indonesia leaving at least 79 dead and over 1,250 people
injured on September
2nd. An Earthquake also caused damage in Samoa flattening villages and
killing over 99 people. We
are still not sure how many people and churches lost their homes in these
earthquakes but IDES will be
partnering with at least three different missions to bring aid to the people
of Indonesia.

Please keep the people of these countries in your prayers.    If you
or your church would like to help
IDES meet needs during times of disaster you can donate online at
http://www.ides.org
