Happy Halloween!

Jennifer Aniston is shooting a new comedy, "Otherwise Engaged" in which
she plays a woman who discovers that her grandmother was the basis for
the Mrs. Robinson character in The Graduate.

As if Drea de Matteo wasn't enough sister for Matt LeBlanc, Joey
producers are casting a second sibling for his title character. Sources
confirm the latest addition to the Tribbiani clan could arrive as early
as November, and will likely be played by a name actress. NBC declined
to comment though. (TV Guide)

Poker faces
(From RedEye)
Ben Affleck and David Schwimmer are ready to become gambling
buddies--the actors are teaming up to star in a comedy set in the world
of competitive poker. Schwimmer, Affleck and William H. Macy will star
in the untitled comedy, Variety reports, with a fictional international
poker tournament providing the backdrop. After suffering through a
string of recent bombs, Affleck gets a role he can enjoy regardless of
the movie's box-office success. He won the California State Poker
Championships and a $356,400 prize in June. Schwimmer, meanwhile, is
still gambling on a post-"Friends" acting career.

'Joey' gets friendly nod on episodes from NBC
(Boston Globe) By Dean Johnson
"Joey'' is doing OK without all those friends, so NBC gave the
"Friends'' spinoff a full-season pickup. The network ordered at least
nine additional episodes of the sitcom starring Matt LeBlanc, who moved
over to his own show after ``Friends'' wrapped its decade-long run. Drea
de Matteo ("The Sopranos'') co-stars. NBC trumpeted ``Joey'' as the
season's top-rated new comedy among adults ages 18 to 49 and among total
viewers, and the No. 2 comedy overall in the advertiser-favored 18-to-49
demographic, behind NBC's "Will & Grace.'' But the series has yet to
match the success of "Friends,'' which had been a bulwark of NBC's
Thursday schedule.

Former 'Friends' Stars To Play Struggling Actresses
September 21 2004 (WENN)
Former Friends co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox are heading to
American cable network HBO to play troubled actresses in separate
projects. Cox recently received the green light to executive produce and
star in the drama Rehab, formerly known as The Fall And Rise Of Taylor
Kennedy. The show follows a recovering alcoholic actress. Bosses at HBO
have also begun casting the pilot for Kudrow's show The Comeback, a
comedy written by the actress and Sex And The City producer Michael
Patrick King . The show, executive produced by Kudrow and Patrick King,
follows a faded actress as she struggles to make a career comeback.
Kudrow's production company Is Or Isn't Entertainment and Cox and
husband David Arquette 's Coquette Productions both have a number of
their own projects currently in development.

Angry Schwimmer Goes To Court To Clear His Name
September 15 2004 (WENN)
Former Friends star David Schwimmer is suing a disgraced Hollywood
fundraiser after he made scandalous tabloid accusations about the actor.
Aaron Tonken told America's National Enquirer that Schwimmer had refused
to attend one of his charity events unless he gave him a pair of
expensive Rolex watches, and had documentation to prove his story. But
in legal papers filed in Los Angeles' Superior Court yesterday and
obtained by TV show Celebrity Justice, Schwimmer insists Tonken is "a
scheming pathological liar, bent on castigating Schwimmer and other
celebrities by concocting bogus stories." The actor is also alleging
that Tonken, who has been convicted for fraud, "diverted monies intended
for cancer charities and other laudable causes, and connived to
rationalize his misconduct by blaming it on the demands of celebrities,
such as Schwimmer." The angry Friends star goes on to call Tonken's
allegations "outrageous" and is demanding $2 million from him for
slander.

"The couple of times that I was being followed, I'd just drive to the
police station," Lisa Kudrow told an interviewer when asked about
stalkers. That usually worked, except for one time when the stalker
followed "me into the parking structure at the police station. Took a
ticket and everything." (The Daily News)

On Oct. 6, two of the former stars of NBC's Friends, actresses Lisa
Kudrow and Courteney Cox Arquette, worked the microphone at the Ford
"Tied to the Cause" luncheon in Los Angeles, benefiting the Susan G.
Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. They were joined by actress Rosanna
Arquette and singer Patti LaBelle, who helped auction off a 2005 Ford
Escape Hybrid the first-ever hybrid sport-utility vehicle.

David Schwimmer has found a new lover in the shape of a contestant on
reality stunt show "Fear Factor." The unlucky-in-love actor was spotted
dining and romancing 25-year-old Rochelle Ovitt in Los Angeles.
Schwimmer's past loves have included Israeli actress Mili Avital and
singer Natalie Imbruglia. Schwimmer split with Unisex Salon rock chick
Gina Lee in June after five months together. (The Daily Dish)

Friends Season 8 is being released on DVD November 9th. This is the
season where Rachel is pregnant.

Matthew Perry to Guest Star on 'Scrubs'
Oct 13

NEW YORK (AP) - Matthew Perry is sweeping back to NBC, but he won't be
visiting his friend "Joey." Instead, Perry will be sitting in the
director's chair and standing in front of the lens as a guest star for
the Nov. 23 episode of "Scrubs," NBC announced recently.

The episode will air during "sweeps." ("Sweeps" is a period four months
a year when television ratings are monitored closely to set local
advertising rates.)

In the Perry-directed episode, the former "Friends" star will play a man
willing to donate one of his kidneys to his sick father - played by
Perry's real-life dad, John Bennett Perry - until complications arise.

The appearance will mark the first time, other than Matt LeBlanc on his
spinoff, "Joey," that a "Friends" principal has returned to NBC. Perry
played sarcastic "Friend" Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on the hit
sitcom.

Perry's not the only former NBC star suiting up for "Scrubs." Julianna
Margulies, who was featured on the medical drama "ER" for six seasons,
will guest star in two "sweeps" episodes on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. She'll
play a malpractice lawyer.

"Scrubs" stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken
Jenkins, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley as the wacky resident staff of
Sacred Heart Hospital.

Facing Off over Plastic Surgery
"People"
Oct. 7, 2004

As the nip-and-tuck business thrives in Hollywood, some stars are saying
‘No more’ and speaking out about the pressure to go under the knife

Jennifer Aniston, 35, is of a like mind. "Hey, I don’t say no to
anything. Anything that makes you feel better, go for it," she says.

Her former Friends costar Courteney Cox agrees. "I don’t think
anything’s wrong with plastic surgery," Cox told In Style, though she
added, "I don’t understand when people change drastically."

Aniston said she'd have a face-lift but isn’t so sure about Botox.
"Shooting botulism into your brain cavity seems a bit frightening," she
told PEOPLE last year.

What do you think of "Joey" ? Was it as good as you expected? Is Joey
still the same Joey?

From: boga2-@yahoo.com (Beth)
I thought that "Joey" was really good. I was totally impressed.  Me and
my roommate watched it, just to see what it was like.. We're both huge
Friends fans, and we were like, what the hell, we have nothing better to
be doing. hehe. It was so good, every Thursday night we have a lil party
to watch Joey. It's great. I think it's awesome how Joey is still the
goofy-loveable Joey, and the writers keep making references to Chandler
and the gang. It's a good show, and I hope it stays around just as long
as Friends did..

From: Goveg-@aol.com (Lynn)
I cant watch "Joey." His sister makes me physically ill. I wish they had
gone with the other person that I heard them talking about. Anybody
else. She ruins the show for me. Aaaaaaaaaah!

Actors Matthew Perry and Comedian Richard Pryor contribute to reward for
killer of golden
By Associated Press
Friday, October 8, 2004

BOSTON - Former ``Friend'' Matthew Perry and comedian Richard Pryor are
adding to the reward bounty for information leading to the arrest of the
person who drowned a golden retriever in the ocean surf off Nahant.

The dog was tied up, muzzled and stuffed inside a burlap bag. The
retriever was dead when someone walking on Long Beach discovered it in
shallow waters on Sept. 21.

Pryor found out about the death of the dog through a network of fellow
animal lovers, said Linda Horsley, a pet sitter from Nahant, who is
helping to organize the reward efforts with the Massachusetts Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

``The thinking is just so sick. It's important to get the person caught
and jailed. It's important to raise the awareness that cruelty to
animals is just not tolerable,'' Horsley said.

Pryor and his wife have donated $1,000 to the reward fund, Horsley said,
in addition to $255 they are paying for a banner at a fundraising walk
for the MSPCA on Oct. 17.

Perry has chosen not to disclose the amount he donated, said Peter
Gollub, the director of law enforcement for the MSPCA.

It was not immediately known how the actor became aware of the dog's
death.

The MSPCA has already raised $12,000 in reward money.
