Actually a good point.
If you allow anything to come in under the definition of manga the
term loses meaning and just becomes another name for comic books.
I strongly recommend restricting the term to products originating in
the Japanese market for the Japanese market.
Now mention of manga/anime influenced works in a timeline should be
fine as long as that is clear.
