Dear Praying friends,
Below is a message from my friend,
Missionary Tom Gaudet, concerning the new Hmong refugees and the
Hmong Church that he and other missionaries have been able to establish
in Northern Thailand. Another good friend, Pastor Srithone
Kongkaw, is speaking with officials on the behalf of the Hmong as I
write. Please be in much prayer for the Hmong, because there is a
strong possibility of great peril for them if they are sent back to
Communist Laos.
Yours for Souls,
John Henry

Dear Intercessors,
Please pray for the Hmong refugees in general and the brethren of
NamKhao Baptist Church in particular. These are difficult days for them
as the military has now moved all of them to the new camp. Whatever hope
they had to be resettled in a third country or to stay in Thailand, they
are now realizing that those hopes are far fetched.
The new camp is more or less a holding center for the Hmong while
Thailand and Laos work through the process of sending them back. That is
what the military is saying now to the Hmong people themselves. The
military estimates it to take 2-3 years to move all these back to Laos.
This Tuesday, 10 July a meeting will be held at the camp to decide
what will be done about what Church buildings will be allowed and schools
allowed. Things change quickly in a situation like this and this is what
is now being said.
Pastor Srithrone from Chiang Mai will travel to the camp for that
meeting to represent the interests of the Church and the missionaries
involved. The outcome of that meeting will determine future access to
them.
There is a media news blackout from the camp mandated by the
military. Please pray for these dear people in the days to come. Pray
especially for the brethren.
I plan to update you again later in the week after that meeting is
finished.
For Souls Still Waiting,
Bro. Tom Gaudet
