Dear Pastor and praying friends,
Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and
Lord of lords!
RETURNING TO AMERICA: Psalm and Song returned to America last May
and Sue and I will be returning on 22 July. This is earlier than we
would like, but necessary. A major reason for our return is the
falling U.S. dollar and rising prices due to fuel costs. We arrived
back in Thailand in August of 2006, but since then the dollar has lost
17% of it value against the Thai Baht, and almost 22% since we returned
to America raise much needed support in July of 2005. In addition
to this food, gas and other prices are soaring. The price of rice,
the staple here, has almost doubled, and gas is $5.00 a gallon now.
We are financially in worse shape now than when we returned in
2005. So we need to do it all over again. Please pray for us
in this endeavor, and pray for the work here in our absence!
PROPHETIC SIGNS OF CHRIST’S
RETURN: The declining economy is caused primarily by disasters
and economic manipulation, such as in 1929 (James 5:1-6; 2 Thess.
2:7). The end time prophetic sign of “the beginning of
sorrows” is upon us and the Rapture is very close, and then the
Tribulation and bruising of Satan’s head will follow (Matt. 24:3-8; Gen.
3:15-16; Rev.1:19, 4:1; 1 Thess. 4:13-18, 5:1-3). This sign
consists of the increase of 1) false christs, 2) wars,
3) famines, 4) pestilences, and 5) earthquake all at
the same time. If any one of these were not increasing it would not
be a prophetic fulfillment. I have been following their
simultaneous increase for over 20 years now, and testify that since WW I
(and especially since the reestablishment of Israel as a nation after
1,878 years of exile from their Land) that these five sorrows have
been increasing, and during the past few years they have accelerated
greatly. An Oxfam Press Release in November of last year stated
that "natural disasters have quadrupled over the last two
decades." With the New Age Movement’s teaching that we are all
christs we now literally have millions of little false christs running
around. Deadly diseases thought to have been defeated have made come
backs, and AIDS and other new ones have appeared on the scene. And
I need not mention the terrorism, commotions, wars and rumors of war of
recent years. Major causes of economic problems and famines are
wars, disasters, and economic manipulation. We are seeing all of
these now! However, referring to "the beginning of
sorrows” the Lord Jesus said, “And when these things begin to come
to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption
draweth nigh" (Luke 21:28). None of these five signs
pointing to the end of this present world system are a reason to
despair. They point to the return of Christ to receive us up and
"so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thess.
4:17). We are not to despair, but neither are we to stop
serving the Lord, because the time is near, for Jesus told His church to
“observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen" (Matt.
28:20), and in a parable He said, “occupy till I come”
(Luke 19:13). "And let us consider one another to provoke
unto love and to good works … exhorting one another: and so much
the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Heb.
10:24-25) God will take care of us and bless as be continue
"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious
appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." (Titus
2:13) Maranatha!
WORD OF LIFE RADIO PROGRAM: God gave us two 2 men who
receive the Lord in June as we followed up on a call from one of them in
to the Radio Program! Praise God that He showed us that
people are listening! We believe that many more than we know of are
being blessed and saved through the program. Praise God that
lightning hit the radio station’s antenna, because when they changed it
the listening area increased! Our members in Phoin Phisai can now
hear the daily Gospel programs. We estimate that we now have a
potential listing audience of over a million (about 730,000 in and around
Vientiane, Laos & around 352,000 here in Nong Khai). April
marked our sixth year of daily broadcasting of the Gospel here on the
Thai / Lao Frontier! Prar that we be able to continue till
Jesus comes!
SECOND QUARTER REPORT: Professions of Faith in
Christ: We had 8 people receive Jesus during this
Quarter! Sunday Morning Attendance: The average attendance
for Nong Khai and Phon Phisai together for this Quarter was 35 (Nong Kai:
15; Phon Phisai: 20). Villages: The village meetings
only averaged 5. Bible Institute: We now have 62 Bible
correspondence students enrolled.
PRAYER REQUESTS: We will be returning to America in a few
days, so please make sure to keep brothers Oie and Sak, and their
families on your prayer list as they will be overseeing the Radio
Ministry and caring for the people of our two mission works. Pray
too for the members of our works. Also pray for us to raise support
enough for a dependable vehicle, a permanent facility, and
for regular operating expenses. An immediate prayer need is
that Pastors allow me to report the work at their churches. My
calendar is wide open at this time.
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may have
free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we
may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not
faith” (2 Thess 3:1-2). “Praying always with all
prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that
utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make
known the mystery of the gospel” (Eph 6:18-19).
