How I feel today, or a start down
the proverbial travelers path.

...what Europe provided was the challenge of different ideas
expressed in different languages by men reared
in different traditions...

HI - Acronym for Hostel International
I was going to go to the HI La Posada in Macora Peru
when I finally learned, HI is not hello, it is Hostel International.
HI is an organization mostly for Europe that charges a fee to have
a membership card to enter, normally means the price is high.
More or less a reservations system and normally avoided by the
experienced travelers.

Bazoo
 - Mouth. A term of derision. "Shut your bazoo!"

Mancora, Peru

Hello,
I left Riobamba, Ecuador, stopped in Bucay, Machala,
Santa Rosa and finally took the a wrong turn south to the Peruvian
Surf beach of Mancora, I will hang around here for a week and then
return to Ecuador to meet a friend, then maybe I fly from Guayaquil to
Bogota, Colombia.

METAMORPHISM
Mancora Peru

I am sure something is changing in my life and maybe soon I will
figure out what... I am sure those friends that have read these reports
for
years can sense my frustrations and I apologize, I am having trouble
sorting
out what I am thinking and feeling.

In the last few weeks I have met many types of people, going from
the Mountains of Machu Picchu to the Jungles of Rurrenabaque, Bolivia
then the city of Quito, Ecuador and not wandering down the Andes
mountains
to Riobamba, over to Bucay, Ecuador with rushing rivers, then down the
hills to
Machalas full of Bananas and a huge port by the name of Bolivar, left
the cozy
enclaves of Ecuadorian culture and entered the tourist surfer beach
life of Mancora, Peru.

Bananas

Cacao or Cocoa
http://www.hobotraveler.com/2005/05/cocoa.html

Each of these places has a distinct culture, climate, and wonderfully
unique
there is always a new world to encounter.

It is 8:35 AM on Wednesday in Mancora, they music just started and I can
hear
it like it is playing inside my room, there are many hippie tourist here
in Mancora.

Traveling south in the Andes Mountains from Quito, Ecuador to the beach
will help anyone to clear their mind. I spent the last two weeks only
speaking
Spanish and saw only four travelers. I went searching to learn about
Bananas,
Cocoa, and how the world works.

Somewhere up in the mountains, out in the jungle, or in the center of a
dirty,
dusty, cluttered market full of Bananas is my new life, I think it is
time to
separate completely from the safety of the Gringo Trails.

Many people write me and ask,
"Where are you?"
I appreciate the emails, and I will continue to try to remind people,
you can
always go read my DAILY Travelogue full of photos and candid
descriptions
or opinions, and you will know where I am daily and what I am looking
at.
