List Name Holistic Animal Rescue (Holistic Rescue)
Purpose: The Holistic Animal Rescue list is for anyone concerned about the use of holistic health care with rescued animals. It is open to rescue workers, members of rescue organizations, veterinarians, or anyone else who is interested in learning about or promoting the use of holistic care for homeless animals.

Subjects that are considered on-topic include any aspect of rescue that is peculiar to the holistic approach, for example, animal intake and adoption standards, health care protocols, training volunteers, dealing with regulations, etc.

The discussion may include nutrition, vaccinations, and therapeutic treatment with nutraceuticals, herbs, homeopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, reiki, but is not limited to these modalities.

Questions from list members who wish to learn about holistic care are welcome and should receive generous responses. This is not an advocacy list, however, since many of the holistic modalities that will be discussed have been in use for thousands of years by major portions of the world, there will not be any discussion of whether they are effective or scientific.

Topics that are not peculiar to a holistic approach are not appropriate to this list, and a referal should be made to another source of information, or discussions should be taken off list. An example would be basic accounting principles for non-profit organizations like fund accounting, etc.
