Just a note to update things. We've got over 1,300 people signed up for
the on-line community now. That's up from about 300-ish when I joined
the team back in June last year. Not a bad expansion even if I do say so
myself. I like to think I've had quite an impact on the growth (but then
I would say that wouldn't I)
The team is growing as well. We have two new volunteers, Maureen and
Dominique (who will hopefully be in the office today and starting to
learn and work with the community stuff). It's clear now to me that in
order to make this thing work we have to keep things fresh and active
but of course that takes lots of effort and lots of paris of hands. Heh,
we do our best you know. There are only a few of us, sob sob!
On the point of 'fresh and active' by the way we have just negotiated a
new benefit for the members. One of those companies that do special
gifts, you know like balloon rides, driving days, paint-balling and the
like. They are offering a £25 discount on four of their top offers,
which amounts to a 50% discount on at least one of them! Plus they are
offering us 10% discount across the board on all other offers. Now that
sounds good to me. If anyone is interested just let me know but bear in
mind that it's early days yet and we have to sort out the details before
we can advertise it.
