Good Day,
C.L.E.A.R.'s chairman, Nelson Meikle, is in court on Monday,
June 23rd at 9:30am, in Kelowna, to appeal Judge
Cartwright's decision not to grant him an adjournment for
his upcoming trial. This adjournment request came
immediately after Judge Stansfield denied Dave Lindsay
audience for Nelson's case. Judge Stansfield wrote, after a
two and a half month waiting period, that he felt "compelled
to abide by his previous decison" in Ed Dick's case - and
this decision came only after several sporatic days of
arguement by Dave and Nelson. The result of this is that
Nelson has not had enough time to find a replacement
representative as well as familiarize this individual with
the case, arguments and history.
Nelson's trial, on charges of failure to file for income
tax, is set to commence the following days, June 23rd and
June 24th in Kelowna.
We need to have a packed court house to support Nelson in
this appeal on Monday. Please call anyone you know in the
area and ask them to come out to court. We must stand
together and let the court judges know that we are watching
and demanding right action in the courts.
