The United Auburn Indian Community School has received accreditation
from the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation.

Roger Bordeaux, superintendent of UAIC Tribal Schools, said receiving
accreditation has been the 3-year-old school's goal "since we first
opened our door."

Doug Elmets, a spokesman for the tribe, said the school features a
"hands-on learning philosophy" that helps teach children key aspects of
Indian culture and fosters critical thinking to prepare them for future
