Greetings from En Camino.
It has been just over a month since our last alert, and things are
happening.
The Tories have called an election for October 2, and we have updated
our anti-Tory site accordingly
http://www.en-camino.org/tory
Meanwhile, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty has done much more
than set up a site, beginning with an exemplary action in Yorkville,
Toronto, on August 23, and with plenty more to come. Please see
www.ocap.ca
For more on the remarkable array of activities OCAP is working on and
in. For their own anti-Tory strategy, see this:
http://www.ocap.ca/defeat.html
We have prepared our usual media alert, in this case on the Toronto
Star's coverage of the occupation of Afghanistan-- an occupation that is
using thousands of Canadian troops!
http://www.en-camino.org/sept62003mediaalert.htm
We also have much material on Latin America, although events are moving
rapidly there. Some pieces published on ZNet include one on Venezuela:

And, following up on the communiques of the EZLN that we presented in
the last alert, here are the speeches they gave at the August 9 party:
http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=8&ItemID=4038

We also present some original material on Latin America. A 'snapshot'
of some Central American countries, from the summer:
http://www.en-camino.org/sept62003rozental.htm
And a translation of a communique from Ecuador's indigenous movement
from early August, explaining why the forces that helped bring President
Lucio Gutierrez to power in Ecuador have broken their ties with him,
translated by one of our volunteers (Kole):

We will try to update more frequently during the election campaign, and
as events continue to move quickly all over the world...
En Camino
