“TRANSFORMING AGRICULTURAL KNOWLEDGE INTO DEVELOPMENT IMPACT”

Estimados Amigos:
Se invita a participar de la Consulta Electronica para Latinoamerica y
el Caribe “TRANSFORMANDO EL CONOCIMIENTO AGROPECUARIO EN DESARROLLO
CON INCLUSION SOCIAL” a realizarse del 14 al 30 de setiembre de 2009.
Convoca:
FORAGRO – Foro de las Americas para la Investigacion y Desarrollo
Tecnologico Agropecuario en el marco del GFAR (Global Forum on
Agricultural Research).
Coordina:
IICA - A traves de su oficina en Uruguay con el apoyo de PROCISUR
Esta actividad es parte de un proceso de Consulta Regional, basada en
una revision y analisis critico de los documentos disponibles sobre
prioridades de investigacion agropecuaria. La informacion resultante
de este proceso a nivel regional, sera insumo fundamental para
integrar conjuntamente con las restantes Regiones en la Global
Conference on Agricultural Research for Development, GCARD 2010, que
se celebrara en Montpellier, Francia, del 28 al 31 de marzo de 2010.
La Conferencia GCARD 2010, se enmarca en la reciente reformulacion del
CGIAR, que se encuentra implementando la nueva estrategia y
estructura. Reemplaza el AGM de CGIAR anual y la Conferencia de GFAR
trianual, realizandose cada dos anhos. La organizacion ha sido
asignada al GFAR, en colaboracion con los Foros Regionales y CGIAR.
El proposito es contribuir al desarrollo de un nuevo sistema
internacional de investigacion agropecuaria que tenga impacto sobre la
pobreza, mediante un enfoque abierto e inclusivo, involucrando a los
actores del proceso de innovacion a efectos de identificar las
demandas nacionales, regionales y globales.
La Consulta se basara en un documento elaborado por el especialista
Sergio Salles (Brasil) y la coordinacion tecnica estara a cargo de
Eduardo Trigo (Argentina) con la moderacion de Miguel Carriquiry
(Uruguay).
Como sera la Consulta Electronica?
La Consulta Electronica se desarrollara durante dos semanas y media de
forma asincronica, gestionada en el sitio Web del IICA Uruguay
(www.iica.org.uy) mediante una herramienta muy amigable que permitira
visualizar toda la informacion del evento, asi como publicar en linea
los aportes de los participantes.
Cada dos dias el equipo de moderacion estara enviando informes a las
casillas electronicas de todos los registrados.

You are invited to participate in the e-consultation for Latin America
and the Caribbean “Transforming agricultural knowledge into
development impact” to be held from 14 to 30 September 2009.

FORAGRO - Foro de las Américas para la Investigación y Desarrollo
Tecnológico Agropecuario framed on the GFAR (Global Forum on
Agricultural Research).
Coordination by:
IICA – Through its Office in Uruguay with the support of PROCISUR.
This activity is part of a Regional Consulting process, based on a
commissioned regional review and critical analysis of available
agricultural research priorities studies and reports. The outcome of
this process will be a basic input to the Global Conference on
Agricultural Research for Development GCARD, Montpellier, France,
28-31 March 2010.
The Conference replaces both the GFAR Triennial Conferences and the
Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the CGIAR, contributing to implement
its new strategy and structure.
The purpose of this consultations is to contribute to the development
of a new international system of agricultural research, in order to
improve its impact on the needs of the poor in the developing
countries, through an open and inclusive approach, involving the
actors in the innovation process to identify the national, regional
and global demands.
The e-Consultation will be based on a regional review document
prepared by Sergio Salles (Brazil) and will have the technical support
by Eduardo Trigo (Argentina) and Miguel Carriquiry (Uruguay) as
moderator.
How the Electronic Consultation will be?
The Electronic Consultation will last two and a half weeks, on
asynchronous mode, managed within the Web Site of IICA Uruguay
(www.iica.org.uy) through a friendly tool that will allow the
visualization of all the information and to participate as well.
Every two days, the Moderation Team will e-mail to all the
participants a summary of the discussion.
