We have been members of the Jessamine County Historical society since 2001 ,we attended the first
History Fest. We would like to ask the group some questions; Is their any list of the information available
at the Farmers Square office ?
Our mother was Jessamine Imogene McAfee b. Rome, Floyd Co., Georgia 8 October 1890. Married Howard
Byron Ames in Oceanside, San Diego Co., California 23 November, 1924. d. Beaumont, Riverside Co.,
California 16 August 1947.
Her Grandfather was Allen Lawson McAfee b.15 August 1825 in Mercer Co., Kentucky, near Harrisburg,
Kentucky.
In 21 December, 1848 he married Elizabeth R. Shely
Allen Lawson McAfee died in Jessamine Co., 16 March 1888.
He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville, Jessamine Co., Kentucky. Lot 21.
Sorry for the length of this email. What my sister and I am trying to do is get some help in getting a marker
for Colonel, Senator, Allen Lawson McAfee.
It would seem to me the Society could HELP.
