Hi,

I'd like to know what tactic the list uses when their partner opens
1nt and they have a 5 card major with a weak hand, say less than 6 points

Analysis of simulations show that playing in 1N virtually never is
better than playing in 2M.

I assume that the majority play transfers but maybe I am wrong.

We play that 2D is a GI+TFR to H; with a weak hand R just bids 2M to play.

Do they recommend bidding immediately taking the risk that partner
may superaccept and get them to the 3 level, or do they lie low and
escape only if and when the doubling starts?

Risking playing in 1N is unlikely to be a profitable approach.

Are superaccepts recommended when playing the weak nt?

If you believe the total tricks advocates then there is little risk.
