Hi,

Would appreciate some advice on how to bid these hands and avoid
reaching 5H -1, which is what happened
to me after I opened 1H.
I dealt with :        Axx,     Axxxx, AQxx, K,
My partner held : KJxxx, QTx,     KJx,    Qx.
Can anyone suggest a reasonable auction?

1H-1S
2D-2H 2D=Extras 2H = encouraging(per KSU)
3S-4D 3S=choose 4D=Overbid
4H-P   4H= Partner needs great S,H and D. too much for a 2H bid

1H-1S
2D-3H 2D=extras 3H = Limit( not KSU)
3S-4D 3S= finish shape 4D Cue since opener almost unlimited
4H-P   4H same as above.

While the opener does have a good hand, it is still a 6 loser hand.
Once responder limits his hand to a limit raise, Slam becomes unlikely.
