Krug Workers Vote Down Contract; Discussed on KPFA's Flashpoints  Progressive Portal
 Jan 07, 2002 17:47 PST
Charles Krug Winery's production workers, members of United Food and
Commercial Workers Union Local 182D, have rejected a new contract
offer from the winery that would have reduced some workers' pay
dramatically.

The situation was discussed on the KPFA radio program Flashpoints
with Dennis Bernstein today, Monday 1/7/2002.

Guests included Krug Winery union member Aurelio Martin as well as
activists Lauren Coodley and Steve Zeltzer.

Information and audio should be available within a day or so at the
Flashpoints Web site: http://www.flashpoints.net

Thank-yous, comments, etc. regarding the Flashpoints coverage can be
emailed to Dennis Bernstein at: dbern-@igc.org

Letters can be sent to the Krug winery at:
http://www.progressiveportal.org/letters/labor/

A flyer urging a boycott of Krug and Mondavi wines can be downloaded at:
http://www.progressiveportal.org/resources/

More than 3,000 letters have been sent by Progressive Portal users to
the winery's owners since the letter-writing campaign was started in
early August.
