Where: Borders - River Crossing, 8675 River Crossing Blvd, Indianapolis
IN 46240
2. Important national LP membership deadline looms
Oct 31 is last day to join the national Libertarian Party or renew your
membership to have your membership count toward determining our state's
delegate allocation for the next national convention (next spring in St
Louis). Now is the time to pay your membership dues.
Visit https://www.lp.org/membership to join the national Party!
3. A note on Marxism and the Bible
From “laborer” at the Indy Star message boards
Acts 11:29 "Then the disciples, every man according to his ability,
determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea."
Acts 4:35 "And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution
was made unto every man according as he had need."
The phrase "to each according to ability to each according to need" is
not a socialist principle but instead is the Christian principle for
charity that has its roots in scripture and is based upon the
commandment to love your neighbor. "(E)ach according to ability"
literally means a scriptural liberal who freely gives away their own
honestly made money or property as charity to chosen ministers in order
for the ministers to distribute it among the needy.
In other words, I - because I have the ability - do freely give / donate
to the appropriate minister a milk cow, for example. The minister in
turn gives the cow to a person in need. This is called charity... the
perfect law of liberty. Charity not socialism is how the first century
Christians stayed separate from the Romans, i.e., by not participating
or accepting Roman benefits or privileges and thus avoiding "in loco
parentis" status to the Roman government. Socialism leads to dependency
on government. Charity leads to freedom from socialism.

9. Quotations du jour
“The dollar is our currency, but your problem.” - John Connally
"The State never intentionally confronts a man’s sense, intellectual or
moral, but only his body, his senses. It is not armed with superior wit
or honesty, but with superior physical strength. I was not born to be
forced. I will breathe after my own fashion. Let us see who is the
strongest." — Henry David Thoreau
"How selfish so ever man may be supposed, there are evidently some
principles in his nature, which interest him in the fortune of others,
and render their happiness necessary to him, though he derives nothing
from it, except the pleasure of seeing it." – Adam Smith
"The revenue laws are a code or system in regulation of tax assessment
and collection. They relate to taxpayers, and not to nontaxpayers. The
latter are without their scope.” United States Court of Claims, Economy
Plumbing and Heating v. United States, 470 F.2d 585, at 589 (1972)
