Information on an "alternative location" for Cap Metro's proposed
station site. If it's built, it can impact Lamplight
Village...favorably, in my opinion.

Dear Neighbors,
Please be aware that Ben Wear will likely have a
story in tomorrow's
Statesman that identifies the Howard/MoPac location
(the soutwest corner
of that intersection) as our alternate choice for
our commuter rail
station. While Capital Metro has concurrence from
TxDOT for this
location, a final agreement has not been executed.
Because of the
possible risk of the agreement not happening, it was
our intent not to
make a public announcement until the document was
finalized and we
obtained the legal right to use this property. Mr.
Wear has decided to
move forward with the story based on conversations
with a Board member
and TxDOT.
Please note that this is the location that Capital
Metro has chosen and
at the current time the legal paperwork is not
finalized and is subject
to Board review. Capital Metro intends on sharing
the site plan and
details of the plan with the community as soon as
the final agreement is
made. I will be in touch with you as more details
are finalized and
please feel free to share this email with your
