Position Purpose:
Contributes to the efficient, profitable and productive operations by
analyzing, designing, developing, coordinating, implementing and
monitoring new and existing Lawson Financial systems (including General
Ledger, Accounts Payable, Budget and Planning, Procurement, Process Flow
and Lawson Business Intelligence).
Essential Job Functions:
*Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance,
monitoring and day-to-day tasks associated with Woodmen’s Lawson
Financial Systems included but not limited to General Ledger, Accounts
Payable, Budget and Planning, Procurement, Process Flow and Lawson
Business Intelligence and Cognos Impromptu.
*Determines the scope and organizational needs of financial systems by
consulting and interfacing with managers and end-users of Accounting,
Payroll, Human Resources, Investments, Procurement, Field, Actuary, Tax
Compliance and others as needed.
*Works with managers and end-users to analyze business processes,
development functional requirements, create specifications and recommend
system solutions to most effectively and efficiently meet the needs of
the organization
*Monitors financial information needs and designs new or modifies
existing systems to meet changing requirements. Manages the design and
implementation of new modules, releases and/or functionality
*Partners with Business Technology developers, providing expertise in
functional analysis and process design, to develop enhancements,
implement solutions, coordinate software upgrades, new releases and
implementation of new modules
*Coordinates with Business Technology to provide interfaces, imports and
exports to vendors and current society Legacy system databases
*Oversees testing of system enhancements, data conversions, and
interfaces with other third party applications/systems
*Provides internal customer support for systems questions or problems;
serves as subject matter expert for business processes and related
systems
*Proactively investigates and determines the integrity of date within
the financial systems and resolves problems within the system
*Serves as backup security administrator for Lawson systems; partners
with Internal Auditing to document, evaluate and improve processes and
controls associates with Lawson Financial Systems
*Designs and delivers effective training to the business and end-users
of the systems to ensure maximum consistent utilization of the system.
Maintains all system training and documentation
*Coordinates problem resolution process as it relates to vendor products
and services
*Responsible for the design and production of metrics and analysis;
leverages reporting tools and Business Intelligence to introduce new
ways to view, track and compare HR data and metrics and support business
growth
*Trains and supports team members in creating and maintaining standard
and custom reports
*Partners with HRIS Administrator on various projects and activities
*Monitors, tracks and reports on assigned projects
*Delivers presentations to all levels of management concerning current
projects and provides status reports
Qualifications
*Minimum of 5 years experience with Financial Systems (LAWSON preferred)
*B.S./B.A. degree in Management Information Systems, Business
Administration, Business Management or equivalent education and
experience
*Thorough knowledge of formal principals and practices in Accounting and
Finance is a plus
*Thorough knowledge of Cognos or Crystal Reports reporting tools
*Unix-type operating system knowledge is a plus
*Experience with Lawson System Foundation (LSF) 9.0 is a plus
*Working knowledge/experience with programming language, tools and
operating systems
*Strong problem solving, analytical and logic skills
*Ability to read and apply knowledge from technical manuals
*Ability to master new technology and continually acquire new skills
while retaining present skills
*Demonstrated oral and written skills
*Experience/education in structured design methodologies is helpful
*Ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
*Ability to demonstrate time-management skills and complete projects by
deadline
*Able to build relationships with internal and/or external customers to
ensure expectations are exceeded
*Able to focus one’s time and efforts on the critical needed to achieve
business results.
